The Hales

Keith and his son Rob are the tenants of Tremelethen Farm. Keith's father John and his Scillonian wife moved to Tremelethen in 1951 where he was herdsman and later manager, taking over the tenancy in 1965. Keith took over the reins in 1973 specialising in scented narcissi and Rob joined him in 1999 after 3 years studying at Seale Hayne Agricultural College. Now, with two grandsons working on the farm and Rob's young son showing keen interest, the future looks good.

If you have a hot fire or a centrally heated house we recommend moving your flowers into a porch or garage overnight.
‘Don’t keep them in a hot living room’ says Keith. ‘The cooler you keep them the longer they will last. And if you really want them next to your fire then make sure you place them in a cold room at night’.
